Consulting Infantologist

Work with me

Twenty years ago, Caspar quit a career on City trading floors to study infant development. He has not looked back. Babies are way cuter than bankers. (Though babies and traders have surprisingly similar design demands: avoid information overload for people with short attention spans making life-changing decisions.)

Today he works at the intersection of baby science, AI, and real-world application — as Chief Insights Officer at PlayTandem, an AI start-up building tools to support parent-child interaction in early childhood, and as a consultant, speaker, and creative collaborator.

Credentials, if you need them: he helped create The Happy Song (now heard by 150 million people), his Babies Laugh picture books have sold over 60,000 copies, and he spent 20+ years as a developmental psychologist at Goldsmiths, University of London. He has also performed live shows for audiences of actual babies. The babies are tough critics.

Who works with Caspar?

Brands and marketing teams

If you want a scientist who can make your baby or parenting campaign both credible and genuinely fun — without condescension, cliche, or stock images of worried mothers — Caspar is your person.

He has worked with global brands including Pampers, C&G Baby Club, and Piccolo Baby Foods. He knows the difference between science that sells and science that is actually true. His goal is to get you both.

Early years practitioners and organisations

Caspar works with nurseries, early years settings, health visitors, children's centres, parenting support organisations, and sector bodies across the early years world.

Whether that is CPD sessions, research input, advisory work, or simply helping bridge the gap between academic evidence and everyday practice — he is genuinely interested. He takes the sector seriously and understands its pressures. The research should serve practitioners, not the other way around.

Media, events and speaking

A seasoned science communicator across TV, radio, print, podcasts, and live events, Caspar has a particular gift for making serious science both accessible and funny — which is easier when your subject matter involves babies laughing at peekaboo.

He also creates and performs his own live shows for audiences of babies and their accompanying adults. The babies always steal the show.

Topics include: why babies laugh; the science of play and connection; how babies learn language; AI and early childhood; music and baby development; and the surprisingly rich inner lives of infants.
